  1. It truly breaks down like THIS:

Rick Nash comes in and is an instant upgrade on Ryan Spooner.

Tommy Wingels is picked up from Chicago to replace Frank Vatrano, gone to Florida...

Free agent signing of Brian Gionta is an instant upgrade on Matt Beleskey as well - gone to the NY Rangers trash bin.

Nick Holden plays now - whereas Ryan Lindgren was to be for the future...

Lindgren & three draft picks had to be sacrificed - but hey, Boston got a draft pick back for Vatrano, so...

Don Sweeney looks at the BIG PICTURE -
he was plenty more of those *good prospects* in Providence and throughout the affiliates...!

The Tweeters look at a single trade!
    Dum-dums...

  2. One of the Tweeters hit it on the head though - lest you prefer hitting one out of the park - when he dubbed Don... *Sweenius*

Does that make Cam The Man once again?
    ;-)

  3. All that upside aside...

The ''NASH AND NASH'' situation did remind us quite a bit of the dual MILLER after-taste at the blueline...

(They kept tough guy Kevin Miller; while Colin Miller went on to have fun in Las Vegas with the surprising Golden Knights - eventually joined there by Malcolm Subban, on top of former Bruin Reilly Smith!)

And what of the ''David & David'' dilemma...?

Krejci and Pastrnak should have been a GREAT COMBINATION - instead, they never really clicked.

Pastrnak went on to become the long-sought replacement for Tyler Seguin on the Patrice Bergeron-Brad Marchand line.

And Krejci is still searching for his next sniper to feed big goals too - like he did Nathan Horton, on the Stanley Cup championship run in 2011.

    *Sigh*
